Multi-Day Steelhead Trips
This three day fishing adventure is dramatically different from our float trips. You will meet your Coast Guard licensed guides near the mouth of the Deschutes just east of The Dalles, Oregon at Heritage Landing. We will meet you mid-day on the first day, and will return mid-day on the third day. Once we pack your gear aboard one of our custom built jetboats, we head upriver navigating through class II - IV rapids and along canyon walls to our private base camp. This is located 14 miles upstream, which is only accessible by boat. Arriving at camp, we unload your bags as you get into your waders and head out to find your first Deschutes steelhead. Fishing from a floating device is not allowed on the lower 100 miles of this river, so we access the best steelhead water via one of our jetboats, and all fishing is then done while wading. Whatever your fishing preference, we do our best to provide you the opportunity to catch one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish in the world. The Deschutes is one of the best dry line summer steelhead fisheries in the West.
Day one, enjoy an evening of fishing before returning to camp for a riverside dining experience not soon to be forgotten. You will rise just before light the next morning and enjoy a light meal and coffee. Fish the early morning shade until we return to camp for a mid-morning breakfast. After a mid-day break you will be back on the river as shade creeps onto the water and steelhead are more inclined to grab a swung fly. One more early morning of swinging flies and a mid-morning breakfast before heading back to Heritage Landing where your adventure began. This trip can be reserved for a minimum of 6 guests.
